MARCH 2008 A rule that was implemented a year ago, appears to have missed the update. It was approved to have 75lbs ballast in total. It was decided that 50lbs ballast could be added, but had to be to the rear of the driver's seat. This was to try to even up differences in driver weights, between smaller and bigger bodied drivers.
Under Weight;
Ballast to meet minimum weight must not exceed 75lbs, distributed as follows;
Max 25lbs, bolted to the floor of the passenger footwell.
Max 50lbs, bolted to the floor, directly behind the Driver's seat.
Welcome to Boxster Spec Racing
This series encourages the joy of Porsche racing on a reasonable budget and level playing field. If you are here, you must know someone in the Porsche community because we have yet to go "public" with this website. As such, please forgive the areas that have yet to be completed.
The objectives of the Boxster Spec Series are to provide a universal platform that may be enjoyed coast to coast here in America as well as around the world. The Boxster Spec is already embraced and endorsed by the Porsche Owner's Club in Southern California and is under consideration by PCA, PRC and NASA. Our goal is to put Boxster Spec Racing in many areas and with several clubs so that you can race locally or go several states away and be competitive.
Ask your club officials if they plan to bring the Boxster Spec to their program. If not, check here to see who is next to add Boxster Spec to their racing program.
Now go out there and get yourself a car.
